Q: When you say, "Stylus RMX format" or "Designed for Stylus RMX users", what exactly does that mean?
A: During the creation of each title we constantly asked ourselves, "How will this flow for Stylus RMX users?" and, "How can we make this library ultra flexible within Stylus RMX?" Keeping these questions in mind has resulted in REX based loop libraries that are extremely RMX friendly.
All titles featured on our site have a segment on the DVD and in the download specifically organized for Stylus RMX. Customers will see their Nine Volt Audio title appear in Stylus RMX in a familiar and easy-to-navigate way. Before using the loops in Stylus RMX users must do a one-time drag-and-drop of their Nine Volt Audio title into Stylus RMX's included S.A.G.E.™ Converter. Although the conversion process is quick and easy, we also include graphical directions and encourage any customer or potential customer to contact us (not Spectrasonics) for any assistance with our titles.

Q: Can I use the demo loops in commercial productions?
A: The demo loops are provided for evaluation purposes only. They can only be used in commercial productions after you have purchased the library from which they are from.
Q: How much is shipping? How do I track my shipment? What about customs? Other shipping Q & As...
Q: How big are the downloads? Can I download as many formats as I want?
Q: I've heard about other Nine Volt Audio titles but I don't see them on the site. Where are they?
A: They have been discontinued and are no longer available for purchase.
Q: I’ve got the skills to produce a loop library. Would Nine Volt Audio be interested in talking to me?
A: Sure! Drop us a line and we’ll start from there.
Q: I’m having problems with the Stylus RMX's SAGE Converter. What can I do?
A: Doing one or more of these resolves most conversion issues:
- Use the most recent version of the S.A.G.E.™ Converter: 1.5.1d on PC and 1.6.3 on Mac - the version number is in the upper left corner of the converter.
- Convert the REX files from an internal hard drive; not directly from the DVD or external drive.
- Make sure you have the latest version of the "REX Shared Library" on you system - this is a file that the S.A.G.E. Converter needs to work. It's easiest to download the latest version and run the installer. It will overwrite any previous version that you might have. The “REX Shared Library” is necessary for converting some higher resolution loops. You can download the appropriate file for free by clicking here.
- The Mac often has a problem setting the correct permissions to the folder that holds the REX Shared Library. Take a look at the image below. You should have at least one of the files that the arrows are pointing to. Make sure that there isn’t a red “!” on the folders in the image. If it does have an “!” then you need to right click on the folder, select “Get Info” and then change the read/write permissions.

Q: My files have a .rar extension. What is that? How do I open it? I'm having troubles with this format!
A: Some files are compressed in the .rar format, a format similar to .zip but allowing for better compression and smaller files for download. If you do not have a utility to open .rar files, you can download one for free through the following links:
PC: http://www.win-rar.com/download.html
Mac: http://www.unrarx.com/
We have tested all of our .rar files with the above mentioned utilities on both Mac and PC. If you are having problems opening the .rar files with a different extraction utility, please try one of the above.
Please note that many DVD-ROM players are not fast enough to decompress files directly from the DVD. Please place the .rar files onto a hard drive prior to opening them.

Q: How do I load my Kontakt files?
A: There is no formal installation process to begin using the patches and/or loops in Kontakt. Simply use Kontakt’s file browser tab to navigate to the appropriate folder and click on any of the files ending in “.nki” or ".nkm" to load a patch. Below is an example image from our Organ Explosion library.

Note: Kontakt's "add library" function does not operate with our Kontakt files. This functionality is reserved for libraries that license Native Instrument's Kontakt Player software. We do not do this since we figure that most of our customers already own Kontakt,, making Kontakt Player redundant. This also helps us keep prices lower.
Kontakt Player will only allow for 30 minutes of use with our libraries. A full version of Kontakt is required to use our Kontakt formatted releases.
